Congratulations to the Drystanes team of William Johnson, Drew Fulton, Craig Thomson and Callum Croall, who beat Giffnock in the Final of the Glenalmond Trophy last night by a score of 8 shots to 4. Craig reported that we got off to a great start taking five shots over the first two ends. The next few ends saw a Giffnock revival before we were able to close out the last end with a 2 for an 8-4 win. It was a very high quality game with all team members having to make a series of must make shots and was a hard fought victory.
This is the second time that Drystanes has won the Glenalmond Trophy, the first time being in 2012 when Drew skipped the team. Interestingly, and for the first time in our history (and our 50th year), Drystanes are the current Holders of all three of Glasgow Province’s main trophies, the Glenalmond, Shanter and Arthur Frame.
Craig is of course also a member of Giffnock and took great delight in beating his other club. However, as we all know, he is really a humble soul and has apologized profusely to his fellow Giffnock members, as the following photograph demonstrates!
