Last but one Drystanes game at Braehead - why is everyone smiling?

Glynhill Ladies International 2020

Drystanes drew Team Jackson (last year's Scottish Champions) from Scotland in this year's adopt-a-team draw (last year's Scottish Champions).
In the past we have presented tartan scarves and whisky miniatures to International teams - this year I presented Boots vouchers and a club pin.
I watched their first game where they had a comfortable 7-1 win in 6 ends over another Scottish team, Team Henderson.
Lots of good curling (free to spectate) still to see over the next couple of days.

Drystanes drew Team Gim from South Korea in this year's adopt-a-team draw. Five of us watched a fascinating game on Saturday afternoon between Team Muirhead and Team Gim to decide who headed their section of the draw. The first five ends were blanked. Eve took a single in the 6th, Gim blanked the 7th and then took a single in the 8th. Eve then scored a single in the Extra End to win. Team Gim qualified for the Quarter Finals but lost out to Team Wang from China.
Drystanes presented Team Gim with a tartan scarf (thanks to Malcolm for sourcing), a whisky miniature and a club pin. Picture opposite was taken by Malcolm and will be substituted with the official photograph including Malcolm when it becomes available! |

Presentation of Black Stewart scarves to Team Nielsen from Denmark. Drew and Malcolm watched their 5th game which they won with a brilliant last stone at the 8th end beating last year's trophy winners Team Tirinzoni from Switzerland. Sadly this was only their second win of 5 so they do not progress to Sunday's games.
